Welcome to our 2018 Halloween house tour! This is definitely one of my favorite times of the year because I love anything and everything spooky and magic! Working on our Halloween house every year is something that I look forward to. If you haven’t seen my tour from last year, you can check it out here
The plan this year was to add some minimal spook factor, and keep it on a budget. I also wanted things to stay cohesive, and flow throughout the house. I’ve been dealing with a rotator cuff injury the last few weeks, so the less that I do with it, the better. I didn’t want this to spoil the fun, so I pulled out some of my old staples, and then spent about $40 and created my Halloween house effect!
The Shopping List
- Pumpkins: big orange pumpkins, bumpy pumpkins, little pumpkins, cute stemmed pumpkins, you get the picture
- Cheesecloth: this little item packs a big punch in Halloween decor
- Fuzzy black spider: I have wanted one of these for years, but I never bought one. Well, they are $5 and right next to all of those cute pumpkins at Publix
- Candles, skulls, candle holders, books and anything that you already own that could possibly be found in a haunted house
I spray painted the skull last year starting with a plaster skull purchased at a craft store. The cheesecloth was the best $7 ever spent on spooky home decor… poke the holes and rips with your fingertips.
This is one of my favorite Halloween DIY projects. I bought a Christmas village from the dollar store, and spray painted it black, then added touches of glitter paint. Over the years I have accumulated the extra village pieces, monsters and coffins also from the dollar store.
Let me know what are some ways that you decorate for Halloween, and also what you thought of our Halloween House Tour!
